Blanket stitch

The embroidery is taking me longer than expected. However, two weeks into the project and I think I am making good progress. I may even finish this week-end.

I am sewing blanket stitches with dark green cotton perle threads to represent the contour leaves.

Sewing blanket stitches is easy:
1. Bring the thread to the front at A. Take the needle to the back at B and re-emerge at C. Ensure the thread is under the needle tip.
2. Pull the thread through until it lies snugly against the emerging thread but does not distort the fabric.
3. Take the needle to the back at D and re-emerge at E. Ensure the thread is under the needle tip.
4. Pull the thread through as before and keep working stitches in the same manner.
